Justice N.O.W. – A Gathering to Reunite Worship and Justice
Justice N.O.W. (Night of Worship) is an amazing gathering of people who desire to reconnect their worship of God with tangible acts of service to humanity. I was honored when they asked me to be their speaker last year for their inaugural gathering designed to focus on modern-day slavery. Since then, they have focused on other areas of injustices including poverty and homelessness.
I love what’s forming with Justice N.O.W. because it exemplifies the kind of worship that is often referred to in Scripture. God often challenged his people to turn from their idolatry by caring for the marginalized. There appears to be a deep connection in God’s heart between our practical love to those experiencing injustices and our ability to stay focused on the things of God. Justice NOW rightly reconnects these two important aspects of faith; our worship and our compassion.
The next Justice N.O.W. will be coming to Rock Harbor Church in Irvine this Friday May 22nd. I strongly encourage you to go and experience an evening of great worship and focus on the things that resonate close to the hear of God. For this upcoming evening, Justice N.O.W. will focus on the issue of orphans. As with previous gatherings, there will be organizations and ministries that focus on orphans present at the event to connect with participants.
