Take a Leap in 2012
2012 is a leap year.
It’s a unique time that only comes around once every 4 years (in most cases). This added day is a nice shift from life as usual. Why not view it as an opportunity to make 2012 a little more special?
I’d like to introduce you to Victor Saad, a good friend who just launched a new initiative called the Leapyear Project.
Victor wanted to learn how to change the world for the better and decided to take 18 months away from his normal life to see if he could learn practical ways to do just that. Through conversations with great people, he realized that most people have dreams and ideas of doing (or creating) something that would make their life, family, industry or their world better. However, many of these people found themselves constrained by different barriers (social, economic, geographic, emotional etc).
As a result, Victor and some of his friends decided to create this project in order to invite others to take the risk of pursuing good (i.e., a new way of life filled with renewed purpose in which one lives out their passions). Leapyear was born! Whether you’re taking a day, week, month, or even a year, it’s all about launching what you’ve always wanted to. Why not? There’s a community forming at LY that seeks to help you move closer to your dreams!
Here’s how you can join in taking a leap from the norm to pursue something remarkable:
- Visit www.LeapYearProject.org
- Choose your leap.
- What risk will you take to change your life, or the lives of others? What risk will you take to impact the world for the better or improve the community you live in?
- Tag your story.
- No matter what risk you take, tag it with #lyproject (digitally – or get creative!) and contribute to the story of how we all found ways to take a risk for good.
- Spread the word.
- Share what you’re doing with friends and family online and in person. Invite them to take a risk for good and begin sharing those stories as well!
