Giving Tuesday: A New Tradition of Generosity
Black Friday has come and gone.
Cyber Monday is over (although some are resisting it).
Well, I’m glad to know that something much more meaningful is coming together during this holiday season.
It’s called Giving Tuesday. It’s a new tradition of generosity organized by individuals, companies, organizations, and networks focused on supporting the causes they love.
It’s a simple idea. Find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to join in acts of giving. Tell everyone you can about what you are doing and why it matters. If you’re on Twitter, be sure to use the hashtag #GivingTuesday and join the thousands around the country today participating in this new tradition of generosity.
Our country would not be the same without the generosity and commitment of people to do good. In the midst of all the stuff we are consuming during this season, I think it makes great sense to consciously support the causes that we love. Yes, let’s spend a little less and redirect some of our investment of time and money towards the things that matter most to us.
Who will you support today & why?
