I know this thought is simple, but I’m going to say it anyway.
Do what you love everyday.
Life is filled with activities that drain us. While it’s impossible to fully ignore some of these responsibilities that may be draining in nature, we must still remind ourselves (everyday) and participate in activities that fill us as human beings.
For me, writing is this outlet. Whether I’m blogging, writing in a moleskine, or typing up a quick thought, I find myself being refreshed in the act of processing thoughts. Another thing I try to do each day is to spend a few minutes each morning refocusing through prayer. Simple yet profoundly impactful.
Doing things you love provides a practical environment for life refreshment. I choose to not view these things as “disciplines” in my life. Rather, they are things I simply love to do. While it may take some discipline (or at least, initial reminders for yourself on your calendar) to get to a place where you just do it because you love it, the goal is lifestyle.
Don’t have time? You’re way too busy then. Life is too short not to do the things that nurture your soul and give you perspective.

#fistbump dude! this hit me right where it counts today.
I just got let go from my job of 13 years, and now I’m pursuing the stuff that I used to stay up late at night working on…. the stuff I love to do. I figured that there would be nothing better than doing what I’m most passionate about for a living. The uncertainty right now is a little rough, but I’ve never looked forward to work as much as I do right now!
Thanks dude! You rock!

Marc,
Thanks for modeling this for me. I love your updates and continue to be inspired by how you live your life. Tina and I talk from time to time about how we love what you’ve done in the past two years. Continue on my friend.

Do What You Love (Everyday)
I recently cut out some things that were keeping me way too busy from doing what I love, (music). I was second-guessing myself and happened to read this.
Thanks so much!
