Why Origins Project?
The Origins Project is a new network for creatives, activists, and equippers (i.e., leaders of the church) to focus on Jesus, humanity, and innovation as it relates to the mission of God.
This is NOT a network just for church leaders. It is a network of friends, pioneers, social entrepreneurs, misfits, leaders, business people, artists and innovators who want to dream and work together rather than alone in participating in God’s mission in this world. People are from different backgrounds and use different methods in different cultural contexts, but share the same passion to love, serve, and take risks to see others connect and experience the transforming love of God in Jesus.
To celebrate this new network, Origins will be hosting its inaugural event in Los Angeles July 23-24th of this year. This will be a 2-day event that will (1) serve the city of LA through intelligent acts of kindness and (2) gather our Origins tribe (that means YOU!) to mutually inspire and collaborate towards the loving mission of Christ.
I will be learning on day-long learning tour on community development on Friday July 23rd. (More details coming next week!) Also, I have the privilege of sharing on Saturday July 24th at Club Nokia and facilitating small group conversations about caring for humanity.
I personally think that something unique is brewing through this network. It’s rare to see such diversity of leadership and vocations come together with this kind of posture towards unity and collaboration. Please take a moment to see the speakers and break-out facilitators for the event. You definitely won’t want to miss this event.
For those of you that are a part of the Idea Camp tribe, we’re looking into some meetups/tweetups during the event to reconnect with one another. 🙂
Hope to see you there!
