Praxis Pitch Night on February 4th

Guest Post by Dave Blanchard, Founder of Praxis and former IDEO Principal Designer

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’re attuned to – if not part of – the growing number of social entrepreneurs in the world, who are creating some incredibly innovative solutions to some of the world’s greatest needs.

The organization I am fortunate to lead, Praxis, is an accelerator program for these social entrepreneurs, and specifically those motivated by their faith to advance the common good.  Each year we select twelve emerging organizations from a rigorous application process, and then provide them with world-class mentorship (like Charles!), access to capital sources – including $100,000 in program grants, and a rich peer community.  Throughout, we help entrepreneurs understand how to create scalable, Gospel-centered organizations while creating a sustainable, rich, inner life as a leader.

Over the past several months, we’ve worked closely with our first class of Praxis Fellows, an inspiring group of innovators tackling issues including public education, international development, rare diseases, orphan care, and more.

We’d like to invite you to join us to hear from the Fellows in a special event on Feb 4, 2012 in Costa Mesa, CA, just 45 minutes south of LA.  The event will be held at the headquarters of Krochet Kids International, one of the organizations in this year’s program.

Each entrepreneur will give a short 5 minute pitch on their vision for change, and they’ll be time provided to connect with the Fellows, several Praxis Mentors, and other social entrepreneurs attending the event.  Hors D’oeuvres and drinks will be provided.

Space is limited.  To attend, please RSVP here.

Hope to see you there!
