Interview with Mike Foster about Ideation, Family, and Leadership

I met Mike Foster years ago when he was working on a new project called XXXChurch, a ministry to the porn industry. I was immediately impressed by his willingness to embrace people that were often overlooked or even avoided by most in the Church. We connected well at that time and our friendship has grown ever since.

I love how Mike thinks and how he lives. He’s an amazing ideator. In addition, Mike is one of the few individuals I know at his level of influence that live life with real integrity. It’s refreshing to see leaders that don’t buy into their own hype. Mike is really down to earth and genuinely cares for people.

Mike is currently the Creative Principal at PlainJoe Studios. His other projects and organizations include Ethur, Junky Car Club, and Deadly Viper. Mike has also written a book with Jud Wilhite called Deadly Viper Character Assassin.

In this interview, I asked Mike about his thoughts on topics including ideation, importance of family, leadership, twitter, the superiority of the MAC, and of course, the Angels/Yankees series. :) I think you will really like many of his fresh insights.

I hope you take a minute to watch and then leave your thoughts on this blog. I look forward to hearing from you.

“It has to flow from your passion…”
    dude… I love that!

Someone I really respected told me many years ago to “Make your vacation your vocation.” I think this is probably one of the most fundamental keys to success in what we do. If you don’t absolutely love what you are doing, then you are probably not as likely to succeed.

And I can’t believe that he didn’t mention the bibledude when he talked about who inspires him! Dude, that’s just wrong! ;-)

    Cool interview! Thanks dude!

Seriously Dan, I have no idea why he didn’t mention you! :) It’s probably because he’s an Angels fan. LOL!

I really appreciated his candid insights. I think passion is a word that so often used that sometime people may overlook its value.

    Well, you inspire me! :)
